Selling myself....

No... NOT like that... dirty minded people ;o)

I was referring to the art form that is CV writing. I've never had to write one before... I walked straight from education and into a job, a job which evolved over the following years and expanded without the need for interviews or having to "sell" myself and my abilities to a group of strangers.

What are my abilities and how can they been made to seem applicable to other careers? That is the challenge. Anyway CV #1 has now been written and tweaked (thanks Kev) ... it's odd I'd helped with other people's CV's and job applications and I'm relatively good at offering sensible and practical advice to others.. but when it comes to thinking of things relating to me.... that's a different kettle of herrings .

I've never been good at talking myself up. I have skills.. and I guess I'm seen by most as a driven and highly conscientious person committed to getting the best out of my team while maintaining a good relationship with them... but wording something like that.. just seems odd. Accurate.. but odd :)
